Obituary of Gus Poirier

POIRIER, Gaspard “Gus” November 29, 1946 ~ July 1, 2020 It is with great sadness in our hearts that Gaspard Andre Poirier, known to friends as “Gus”, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 73 years old. A native of St. Paul, Alberta, he worked and lived across Canada, and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Remembered for his willingness to help others combined with his humour, Gus had the ability to put smiles on everyone’s face. Gus is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence “Fodie”, his sons Roger and Rodney, daughter-in-law Aldina, sisters Diane and Claudia, nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, July 13, 2020, St. Paul Roman Catholic Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gérard Gauthier as celebrant. Cremation has taken place. Final resting place will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Gus may be sent to the Alberta Cancer Society, #710, 10123-99 St., NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1.
