Gus was an incredible neighbour and friend to us at Fisherman’s Cove. He helped us out regularly over the years, cutting grass and helping with our water-my dad Allan, always appreciated all he did. Last summer after dad passed away, Gus let us camp on his land while ours was re-landscaped. The kids loved all of his tools and ‘toys’ and Gus opened his home to us for that week. When he met Benji a few weeks ago, he immediately adopted him as his second pup. Gus had a big heart, and was such a great neighbour. Fisherman’s Cove won’t be the same without him. Our condolences to his family-of whom he spoke often. He will be greatly missed.

My first memory of Uncle Gus was when he moved to Edmonton from down east. We picked him up from the airport and I asked my parents what language he was speaking because he talked so fast. He was a really kind, and fun Uncle who went out of his way to include Laurier and I in many of your families activities. Whether he was taking us camping or to St. Paul to visit Memere and Pepere or just to hang out at your house it was guaranteed to be a great time. What a beautiful tribute.....it captures him just as I remember him.....always laughing and teasing.
Roger and Rodney, our condolences to you and your families.

Roger and Rodney, please except our deepest condolences with the loss of your beloved father Gus. Although I only knew Gus for the past two years, he took a piece of my heart literally from the moment I met him. He was one of the funniest, kindest and most generous people I have ever had the pleasure to know. We have had some deep conversations over the past couple of years and one thing I know for sure is how proud he was of both of you. He said that time and time again. My husband knew your dad much longer than me, he met your dad when he moved to “the lake” about 10 years ago. Your dad was there for my husband when he was going through his beautiful wife’s illness and ultimate passing. When your mom became ill, your dad and my husband had some long conversations about many topics. My husband and I miss your dad so much and he will always be in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you and your family, we are so very sorry about your dad’s passing.

We met Gus 12 years ago when Fisherman's Cove became our summer home. Gus became more than just a friend to us. He became my wife's "dad" and my children's surrogate grandfather. We shared many meals, beers and laughs together as he "joined" our family. We also shared many deep conversations and the one thing that stands out to me is his undying love for Florence and his boys. Roger and Rodney, he was so proud of your accomplishments and the men you became. I am going to miss him dearly as I know you will. May God Bless you Gus, and let you Rest In Peace. With much love and admiration, Angie, Rod, Marissa and Ryan Hintz.
