Dear Elaine and family. I was saddened to hear of Dick’s illness and passing. Have many fond memories of your years in Chauvin, including our kids school years and the girls’ graduation while he was principal. I appreciate the many hours he volunteered for the Village and his years as Mayor of Chauvin. May love of family and friends help ease your pain and good memories keep his spirit close to you all.
Love, Betty Swanson

Our prayers and condolences go out to your family. You must know that Dick holds a very special place in our families heart. He cared for everyone, and more important, he listened and made special things happen for those that couldn’t speak for themselves. We will never forget his belief in our son with Down Syndrome. Because of that belief, Daniel was empowered. He enjoyed school, he worked in community, he went to college and he continues with online learning throughout the Pandemic. And then there was Dick’s passion in ensuring that everyone had a home. There are few people that have touched the world like Dick Wirges. His legacy goes on. May you find peace in knowing that. Our prayers are with you.

I will never forget meeting Uncle Dick the first time at the Brin reunion in 2004. “Us guys” sat around the table, and we did a lot of laughing. I remember looking at Uncle Dick and thinking “dude, you and I are going to get along quite well”. I call a spade a spade, and I was right. I will miss you a lot Uncle Dick. Best to all of you -Mike

Elaine. mere words do not appropriately express our most sincere condolences at the passing of Dick. It was always enjoyable to meet and chat with Dick when he was Principal of Racette School in St. Paul and later as a realtor. A keen sense of humour and his commitment to the community are well remembered. May knowing that he and all of your family are in the prayers and thoughts of many, help ease the pain you feel as you mourn his passing. He lives on in the memories we all hold dear.

Elaine, Rob, Roydon, Ryan and Families, I was deeply saddened to hear about Dicks declining health and recent passing and my heart goes out to you in this time. I have so many memories of spending time with him over the years .. sometimes trembling as I sat in the Principal's office... but more often than that, were the many casual visits to your home throughout my teens or the weekend fishing trips we took with our families during my youth.... His passion for fishing was something I didn't quite understand at that age but I loved going out in his boat with him and Rob... I much appreciated his advice and tall fish tales and it was a bonus if I chalked up some points in the School Principal's good books. Although I didn't get as much opportunity to visit or chat with Dick in my adult years it was always a real treat to meet up and have a conversation with him. He was a great and compassionate guy with a slightly warped sense of humour and laugh that was difficult to forget. He will long live on in my memories, and I will be thinking of you all. My Sincerest Sympathies, Chris Larouche
