On Sunday, June 15, 2014 Roland Peter Cardinal “Lesoos” of Elizabeth Settlement passed away at the age of 58 years 2 days before his 59th birthday. Roland will be missed by his siblings; Lydia Cardinal, Richard (Bernadette) Cardinal, Charles Cardinal, Glen (Mary) Cardinal, Randy (Wendy) Cardinal and Kelvin (Pauline) Cardinal along with numerous very special nieces and nephews. Roland was predeceased by his parents: Clara and James Cardinal and his siblings: Gordon, Rene Alex, George, Theresa, Nelly, Marie and Maggie. A wake was held on Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20, 2014 at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Roman Catholic Church Elizabeth Métis Settlement with Father Thomas Dieu Nguyen as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Cemetery. Honourary pallbearers; Mervin Flamond, Lester Collins, Gary (Brown) Collins, Al, Floyd Soloway, Benny Cardinal, Morris Cardinal, Eric Gadwa, Louis Cardinal, Donny Cardinal, Evelyn LaRocque, Keith Kowerchuk, Simon Cardinal and everyone that loved Lesoos. Pallbearers were; Quade Janvier, Kelvin Cardinal, James Cardinal, Myles Cardinal, Andrew Cardinal and Kelly Gadwa.
