Obituary of Shirley Rebecca Wizniuk

WIZNIUK, Shirley December 26, 1939 – January 13, 2020 On Monday, January 13, 2020, Mrs. Shirley Rebecca Wizniuk of Edmonton (formerly of Bonnyville and Glendon) passed away at the age of 80 years. Shirley will be forever remembered by her sons; Larry (Amy) Wizniuk and Gordon (Emmie) Wizniuk, son-in-law; Lee Shaw, grandchildren; Jessy (Liza), Justin (Naomi), Anthony (Nicall), Stuart, Sacha (Shawn), Peter (Rebecca), Brittany, Rebecca (Doug), Maggie,Steven (Leiah) and Sarah (Garrett), great-grandchildren; Kaleb, Kara Lynn, Reese, Conner, Jovy, Marlee, Alyna, Zoe, Kate, Sophie, Grace, Ewan, Ilona and Eva, her siblings; Henry (Denise) Strymecki, Roy (Linda) Strymecki and Francis Strymecki. Shirley was predeceased by her husband; Peter Wizniuk, daughter; Valarie Shaw, parents; Paul and Helen Strymecki, and her siblings; Albert, Mike, Stan, Ann, Margaret, Olga, Vivian and Rose. More than anything, Shirley will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness. She selflessly spent innumerable hours volunteering in both formal and informal ways, mostly at the Bonnyville Long Term Care. Nothing was more important to her than her family, and she was very good at keeping up with the lives of a huge extended family. Friends and family always knew that you could count on Shirley’s bright smile, her help and her time whenever it was needed. Her easy-going, positive, accepting and caring nature will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her for years to come. Arrangements are in progress.
