September 20, 1950 – October 12, 2019

Saturday, October 12, 2019 Mr. Donald Leonard JosephScanie of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 69 years. Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Karen, his step children; Louie (Grace) Grandbois, Arlene (Johnny) Montgrand, Rita (Bobby) Billette, Cathy (Taza) Piche, Marlene Grandbois, Pamela McNeil, Ralph Cardinal, Dillon (Casey) Cardinal, Sharelle Cardinal, Hudson Cardinal and Blaeze Cardinal, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, adopted children, nieces, nephews and friends. Donald also leaves his siblings; Irene (George) Perry, Raymond (Dorothy) Scanie, Noreen Scanie, Florence (Bobby) Ermineskin, Fred (Denice) Scanie and Dorothy (Barry) Martial. Donald was predeceased by his wife; Marie Grandbois-Scanie, step son; Phillip Grandbois, grandson; Steven Machatis, granddaughter; Tahnee Cardinal, parents; Amable and Florenstine Scanie and his siblings; Clifford, Denis and Rena.

Wake: Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cold Lake First Nations Band Hall.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church.
