On Tuesday, April 15 Mrs. Mary Catherine Janvier of Cold First Nations passed away at the age of 84 years. Mrs. Janvier will be lovingly remembered by her husband Louis Noe Janvier, children; Eileen, Elysa, Mary, Eugenie, Noreen, Jacinta, Russell, Alfred, Laura, Louis Jr., Elmer, Angelina and Darnell, 36 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, niece Martha Janvier, and her siblings; Harry Martial, Elise Charland, Larry Martial, Albertine Minoose, Vivian Martial, Bernice Martial, numerous relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents: Joseph and Marie Martial, son: Hector Janvier, 2 infant daughters, granddaughters: Gabrielle and Priscilla Janvier, great grandson: Justin Janvier, brothers: Armand and Paul Martial, sisters: Sara Nest, Laura, Valerie and Emma Martial.
A wake was held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Louis Janvier’s house and on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Cold Lake First Nations Band Hall. A traditional funeral was held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Band Hall. Interment followed at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
