Obituary of Jobby Metchewais

METCHEWAIS, Jobby

October 14, 1928 – February 1, 2018

On Thursday, February 1, 2018 Mr. Jobby “Chub” Metchewais of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 89 years. Chub is survived by his children; Brenda (Sandford) Big Plume of Tsuut’ina, Violet (Michael) Meguinis of Tsuut’ina, Calvin (Patty) Metchewais of CLFN, Ruby (Leo) Wells of Calgary and Randy (Charlene) Metchewais of CLFN, 29 grandchildren,  53 great grandchildren, his siblings; Sam Metchewais, Leona Metchewais and Ada McLain, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jobby was predeceased by his wife: Martha Metchewais, sons: Clifford and Jerry Metchewais, grandchildren: Devon Meguinis Twins and Ian Janvier, parents: Alexandre and Therese Metchewais, siblings: Jim Metchewais, Edna St. Germaine, Agnes Desjarlais, Rose Vosler, Doreen Metchewais and Lawrence Metchewais.

Wake; Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Calvin’s House. Wake Monday, February 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Band Hall, Funeral mass; Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Interment at Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
