On behalf of all of us at 17 Telecom Flight in Winnipeg, I would like to pass on my deepest sympathies to John's surviving family.
I was fortunate enough to have crossed paths with John back in 2012, whereby we chatted up a number of times whenever I paid a visit to the MP shack. He was absolutely instrumental in helping me navigate through my first posting at 4 Wing. He completely exemplifies what it means to be a true Canadian!
You will be missed. RIP

My deepest condolences to Johns family. I had the pleasure of meting John years ago at 42 Radar, it was a pleasure to talk with him, share stories and see how everything worked in the building. He treated me like one of his members - tho I worked with the janitorial company - he always made me feel welcome.

Joy,
The news was sudden after seeing John looking healthy last summer at Jim's.
Marion & I had a special fondness for John - Joan & or Bert would sometimes get him to the ferry at Pictou & Marion & I would pick him up for visits to Halifax. There he would stay with his Aunt Marie, Marion's house.
Marion & I watched the first Lunar Landing in the Smith's living room in Summerside with John sitting among all the other kids.
He's missed.

Very sad to hear of John's passing. We met years ago when he was the SWO of 42 and we developed a lasting friendship. Naturally when he retired I expected him to have one of those long and enjoyable retirements that we all dream of when we finally return the watch they issued us. This is without a doubt a huge shock. Please accept my sincerest sympathies to all members of the family.
