Obituary of Marie, Rose

On Monday, March 17, 2014 Ms. Marie Rose Kaminsky of Bonnyville, passed away at the age of 90 years. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her children; Leonard (Linda) Kryzanowski, Pollyanna (Roland) Fontaine, Marilyn (Robert) Fedorak and Anthony (Jamie) Kryzanowski, son-in-law Gerald Misiwich, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and sisters; Sophie Kotowich, Jenny Kossey and Olga Durec and 1 brother, Bob Popyk. Marie was predeceased by her husbands; Thomas Kryzanowski and Mike Kaminsky, her daughter Helen Misiwich and her grandson Lawrence Fontaine. Born in Buczacz, Poland, she immigrated with her family to Canada in 1933 at the age of 10 and grew up on a farm near Ardmore. At 18 years old she met and married, Thomas Kryzanowski, and they settled on a farm near Stry, where they raised five children. In 1960, they moved to Ardmore to farm and be closer to family before moving to Bonnyville in 1966. In addition to helping her husband farm and raise five children, Marie also worked for 15 years as a member of the housekeeping staff at the St. Louis Hospital in Bonnyville. She enjoyed working at the hospital a great deal and made many friends among the staff members and in the community. Marie was widowed in 1972. Three year later in 1975 she married Mike Kaminsky, and was widowed again with his passing in 2002. She was a very giving person, renown for her baking and gardening skills, as well as doing considerable volunteer work with the Bonnyville Hospital Auxiliary, working regularly at the hospital gift shop. In her later years, the place she helped look after for so many years looked after her as a resident of the Long Term Care Unit at the Bonnyville Health Centre, where she was cared for with great compassion and devotion by the staff as well as her personal physician Dr. Leonard de Freitas. Her battle with emphysema ended peacefully on Monday morning with her daughter, Pollyanne at her side. A prayer vigil will be held on Friday, March 21, 2104 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Bonnyville, Alberta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Bonnyville.
