My family, my crew, my career changed the day I met Rudy, I'll never forget shaking his hand and you could tell he couldn't wait to say "where you from antigonish" I said why do you ask he said " I'll answer that if you last the day" then he told me " just go in there fill your paperwork out and try to spell your name right ". He jumped in his truck and took off I stood there thinking he won't talk to me that way again yeah right. I had no business even being there and was out of my league I jumped on my 83 tractor made a couple lifts and watched him just shake his head and I thought I hope I have enough money to get home he made me carry a pup around for 3 days practicing how to really operate it. For whatever reason he kept me till the end and I wanted to quit twice a day but thank god I didn't. After the job ended he called me for a beer and then I really got to know him, since then he packed me around I renovated his basement I built what he then nicknamed me crocked shed which he started every conversation and I really loved our friendship and his family. I owe so much to him and he was hard on me but by the end of it I realized I meant something to him and I earned it. Lay your stick down pops I will always miss you and thanks for everything and I'll see you later brother
Steve

We are so sorry to hear of Rudy's passing. Rudy and I spoke typically once a month if not more, and I always looked forward to his calls. When his name popped up on my phone, it always brought a smile to my face. His first comment would always be "Got a job for me" with his typical chuckle afterwards haha. I can picture the smile on his face every time as if he were standing right in front of me, knowing full well he already had the next 12 months work already booked, as anyone with that kind of talent and demand would have. But that was always his opening line haha. His second line was always "Are you retired yet, why are you still working with all that money" lol. I will miss Rudy dearly and think of him often. In fact, I told Tracy, I got out of the shower Wednesday morning and coincidentally enough thought of Rudy that morning, and told her that I should reach out to him to see how he was doing. Looking back, that just seems so weird now, after receiving the devastating news later that same day :(
Tracy and I worked with Rudy for many years at Midwest, which is time we both cherished as the whole employee base back then was remarkable not only from their skillset, but their personalities. Rudy knew our two children and was always very nice and cordial to them at all times. Rudy, as everyone knows, could be a little rough around the edges lol, but he was always a true gentleman and a real pleasure to be around when around my family and my children. Rudy played an instrumental role in building Kellam Pipelines as a reputable and profitable company as well in his superintendent role with us back in 2005-2007. Rudy also played a large role in the continued growth and success in Pipeworx when he was able to join our team when available after the Kellam days.
Rudy's passing came much too sudden and he will be so dearly missed by a lot of people that knew him and of course respected him, of which we will and did. He was one of the best Pipeliner's I ever had the pleasure of working around.
Condolences to all family and friends of this remarkable man, god bless.
Love Kelly & Tracy & Kids.
