SCANIE, Francis
On Saturday, May 11, 2013 Mr. Francis Scanie of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 79 years. Francis will be lovingly remembered by his children; Karen (Brian) Young of Lac La Biche, Kevin Scanie (Eluzen Blackman) of CLFN, Denise (Peter) Gugel of Cold Lake, Beverly Roy of CLFN and Noella Amable of Calgary, 31 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, his sister Nancy Scanie (Robert) of CLFN and numerous relatives and friends. Francis was predeceased by his wife Madeline Scanie, grandson Paul Scanie, parents Teddy and Corrine Scanie and numerous brothers and sisters.
A wake was held on Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17, 2013 at the Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Parish, Cold Lake First Nations, with Father Mario Jubinville as the celebrant. Interment followed at Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
