MATCHATIS, Henry November 7, 1925 – February 12, 2012 On Sunday, February 12, 2012 Mr. Henry Matchatis of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 86 years. Henry will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his wife Melanie, sons; Robert (Julie) Machatis, Melvin Matchatis, Ronnie Matchatis and Gerald Matchatis his daughter Linda Matchatis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, brothers; Victor Matchatis and Alphonse (Maryann) Berland. Henry was predeceased by his children: Rita, Gary, Burton, Ernest and Allen, grandchildren:Jody, Barry and Mitchell and his siblings: Sophie Matchatis, Leonie Matchatis, Ben Matchatis, David Etienne Grosset, and Jeremy Janvier. A Wake was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 14 and 15, 2012 at the Cold Lake First Nations Band Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Parish, Cold Lake First Nations with Father Mario Jubinville as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery with Ian Machatis, Keith Machatis, Jason Matchatis, Travis Matchatis, Ethan Janvier and Jeffery Matchatis as pallbearers.
