Obituary For DESJARLAIS, Richard Francis “Rick” December 5, 2009 – October 9, 2009 On Friday, October 9, 2009 Mr. Rick “Richard Francis Desjarlais of Edmonton passed away at the age of 47 years. Rick will be sadly missed by his wife Audrey Cardinal of Edmonton, his children Colin (Mary), Amy (Dan), Lacey (Bryan), Julie (Jordon), Richard, Dylan and Josh, his grandchildren Mekhi, Midailah, Danielle, Ethan, Amedeè and Keegan, his mother Mrs. Julia Desjarlais, and his siblings Flora Gillies, Stan Desjarlais, Lynda Desjarlais, Joe Desjarlais, Irene Desjarlais, Joyce Primeau, Gloria Desjarlais, Madeline (Tony) Desjarlais, Raymond (Jackie) Desjarlais, Sylvia Desjarlais and Tammy (Rob) Desjarlais. Rick was predeceased by his father Lawrence Desjarlais and his brothers Francis, Hector and Henry Desjarlais. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Scared Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Edmonton. A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 15 and 16, 2009 at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall, Elizabeth Métis Settlement, AB. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Roman Catholic Church at Elizabeth Métis Settlement with Father Rene Realuyo as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, LaCorey, AB with pallbearers Jamie Cox, Shawn Daniels, Kenny Lapratt, Dan Gladue, Bryan Feser and Phillip Cardinal.
