On Wednesday, January 15, 2014 Mr. Albert Joseph Collins of Elizabeth Métis Settlement passed away at Bonnyville Extendicare at the age of 99 years. Mr. Collins legacy will live with his children; Mary Wells of Elizabeth, Vi Collins of Elizabeth, Lloyd Collins of Elizabeth, Archie (Laura) Collins of Elizabeth, Irena Collins of Edmonton and Edward Collins of Elizabeth, 31 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 60 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Collins was predeceased by his wife: Clementine Collins (nee Desjarlais), sons: William, Clarence and August, parents: Dieudonne and Madeleine Collins (nee Sansregret) and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. A visitation was held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville. A viewing was held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Settlement Hall. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall with Father Thomas Dieu Nguyen as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Settlement Cemetery.
