Obituary of June Betty Tverdochlib

TVERDOCHLIB, June May 1, 1937 – January 3, 2012 June Betty Tverdochlib passed away January 3rd 2012 at Bonnyville Health Centre at the age of 74 years. June was born May 1st, 1937 to Mike and Lena Tverdochlib. She grew up together with 3 sisters, Elise, Mary, and Lena, and 1 brother Harold, on the shores of Angling Lake in Beaverdam, Alberta. June had many friends and family members, and during her later years in life she moved home to care for her father Mike, where they enjoyed gardening, and canning fruits and vegetables together, also cooking great Ukrainian meals for friends and family members whenever they would come by to visit. If you came by the home on Sundays she would always be listening to a Ukrainian radio show too. June enjoyed playing with puzzles and word games that kept her busy and spent her days keeping in touch by phone with calls to family and friends. Her home was always open to anyone who came by to visit, and a special gift she had was to remember to always go to one of her favourite restaurants; either Kentucky fried chicken, or Subway for lunch. And she knew which one to go to as she remembered which one she went to last time. June is survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins, located in the Bonnyville, Lloydminster, and Edmonton area. She was pre-deceased by her parents, sisters, and brother, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Northern Lights Funeral Chapel with Reverend Stephen Sparks officiating.
