BENSON, Peter Sydney November 18, 1960 – December 18, 2011 On Sunday, December 18, 2011 Mr. Peter Sydney Benson of Elizabeth Métis Settlement passed away at the age of 51 years. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lori Benson of Elizabeth, children; Cody Benson of Elizabeth, Jaime Benson (Ryan McDonald) of Elizabeth and Janeen Benson (Allan Longjohn) of Cold Lake, grandchildren; Paxton and Lexxin, parents Peter Sr. and Frances Benson of Caslan, siblings; Rita (Andy) Kulyk, Rhonda Benson (Marten), Ron (Bev) Benson, Robert (Alvina) Benson, Phil (Lee) Benson, Norman Benson, Harold (Irene) Benson, Brian Benson and Randy (Julie) Benson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his granddaughter: Hannah Faith, maternal grandparents: Harry & Lily Bourque, paternal grandparents: Edward & Mary Jane Benson and his brother: Harvey Benson. A two day prayer vigil was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 20 and 21, 2011 at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, Elizabeth Settlement with Mario Jubinville as the celebrant.
