METCHEWAIS, Martha November 14, 1934 – May 26, 2011 On Thursday May 26, 2011 Mrs. Martha Marie Metchewais of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 76 years. Martha will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jobby Metchewais of CLFN, children; Brenda (Sandford) Big Plume of Tsuu T’ina, Violet (Michael) Meguinis of Tsuu T’ina, Calvin (Patty) Metchewais of CLFN, Ruby Metchewais (Leo Wells) of Piikani and Randy (Charlene) Metchewais of CLFN, 29 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and her brother Thomas Watchmaker of Kehewin. Martha was predeceased by her sons: Clifford and Jerry Metchewais, grandchildren: Devon Meguinis Twins, parents: Angelique and Simon Watchmaker, sisters: Alice Chief, Clara Cardinal, Mary Gadwa and Freda Youngchief, brothers: Jeremie and Ernest Watchmaker. A prayer vigil was held on Sunday and Monday, May 29 & 30, 2011 at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Raphael’s Parish, Cold Lake First Nations with Father Mario Jubinville as the celebrant. Pallbearers were Nathan Meguinis, Malin Meguinis, Josh Big Plume, Joey Metchewais, Harlan Metchewais and Matthew Metchewais. Interment followed at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery. www.northernlightsfs.ca Northern Lights Funeral Chapel Ltd. were in trust of arrangements.
