Obituary of Alex Joseph Desjarlais

On Saturday, November 20, 2010 Mr. Alex Desjarlais of Elizabeth Métis Settlement passed away at the age of 96 years. Alex will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Vitaline Desjarlais; Nieces and Nephews: Eileen (Vern) Cardinal, Frank (Sylvia) Desjarlais, Alvina (Harry) Cunningham, Richard (Alvina) Desjarlais, Gary (Gladys) Desjarlais, Ronald (Sylvia) Desjarlais, and numerous relatives and friends. Alex was predeceased by; father: Pierre Desjarlais; mother: Eliza Gladue; brothers: Tony and Johnny Desjarlais; sisters: Mary Desjarlais, Anne Tourangeau, Mariah Desjarlais, Lucy Marty, and Clara Cardinal. A wake service will be held on Tuesday & Wednesday, November 23 & 24, 2010 at Elizabeth Métis Settlement Community Hall. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’ Youville Parish at Elizabeth Metis Settlement, Alberta with father Mario Jubinville as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Elizabeth Métis Settlement Community Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers are Francis Desjarlais, Melvin Tourangeau, Clifford Jacknife, Daryl Jacknife, Francis Dumais, Maurice Cardinal, Ivan Cardinal, Willy Desjarlais, Henry Desjarlais, Fernie Marty, Stanley Marty, and Melvin Marty. Pallbearers are Greg Desjarlais, Gary Desjarlais, Conrad Desjarlais, Ryan Desjarlais, Jared Cunningham, and Darren Cardinal.
