Paley, Allen Archibald February 18, 1952 – October 16, 2010 On Saturday, October 16, 2010, Mr. Allen A. Paley, 58, of Elk Point, Alberta, tragically passed away in Bonnyville. All his life Al Sr. lived enthusiastically, loved passionately and laughed heartily. He regaled family and friends with good food, fine wine and hilarious stories which made everybody laugh until they cried. A social man, he became actively involved in any community in which he lived (Sparwood, Calgary, Pierceland, Bonnyville, Red Deer, and Elk Point). Serving with the Canadian Forces (Air Element) at Alert, on Ellesmere Island and in Bermuda between 1969 and 1973, sky-diving as a young man, raising his children, vacationing in warm countries, purchasing “The Hill” near Elk Point, and apprenticing as a Boom Truck operator were some highlights of his life. Al is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, June M. Jenkins; children Allen K.W. Paley of Frog Lake, Aaron A. Paley of Red Deer, April J. J. Paley (Kyle) of Edmonton; siblings Esther Orischuk of Saskatoon, Gordon (Florence) Paley of Nelson, Dorothy (Del) May of Veteran, Olivia (Jack) Grimoldby of Bowmanville, Susan (Francois) Forest of Bowmanville, and their families; mother-in-law Doris Jenkins of Springside / Saskatoon, sisters-in-law Darlene (Kelly) Berry of Saskatoon and Wendy (Marc) Gauthier of Craven, and their families. Allen was predeceased by his parents William Paley in 1978 and Eunice Paley (nee Oshanek) in 2009 and by brother-in-law Sid Orischuk in 2008. Allen’s funeral was at the Elk Point Arts and Leisure Centre on Saturday October 23, 2010, with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating. Northern Lights Funeral Chapel Ltd. were in trust of arrangements.
