On Tuesday, December 1, 2015 Ms. Julia Melanie Desjarlais of Edmonton formerly of Elizabeth Métis Settlement passed away at the age of 82 years. Julia will be lovingly remembered by her children; Flora, Stan (Harriet), Lynda, Joe, Irene (Donald), Joyce (Randy), Gloria (Harlan), Madeline (Darren), Raymond (Jackie), Sylvia (Ronnie) and Tammy (Rob), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Julia was predeceased by her husband: Lawrence Desjarlais, sons: Francis, Hector, Henry and Richard, granddaughters; an infant girl and Lee-Anne, grandson; Danny, 2 great grandsons and her parents; Elzéar and Harriet Martel. Wake: Thursday and Friday, December 3 & 4, 2015 at Elizabeth Settlement Hall. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Church, Elizabeth Métis Settlement with Father Thomas Dieu Nguyen as the celebrant. Interment: St. Michael’s Cemetery, LaCorey.
