On Sunday, August 1, 2010 Edward Cardinal of Elizabeth Métis Settlement, Alberta passed away at the age of 67 years. Edward will be sadly missed by his wife Christine Cardinal: children; Kevin (Tammy) Cardinal, Sharon (Jo) Cardinal, Christopher Cardinal, Jason (Sonia) Cardinal, Rodney (Margaret) Cardinal, Wanda (Peter) Primeau: grandchildren; Jared, Dillon, Michael, Kamron, Alyx, Doltan, Brandon, Leah, Daniel, Joseph, Timothy: brothers; Lawrence (Louise) Cardinal, Wesley (Hazel) Cardinal. Edward was predeceased by his son; William Everett Cardinal: parents; Florence & Joseph Cardinal: sisters; Elise, Rosie, Alice, Doreen, Darlene, Lorriane: brother; Frank Cardinal. A prayer vigil was held on Thursday and Friday, August 5 & 6 at Elizabeth Métis Settlement Community Hall. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, Elizabeth Metis Settlement, Alberta with Father Mario Jubinville as the celebrant. Interment followed at Elizabeth Settlement Community Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers were Jo Cardinal, Dillon Cardinal, Kamron Cardinal, Joe Tourangeau, Joe Cardinal Sr., Joe Jacknife, Gilbert Jacknife, Pat Desjarlais, Allan Wells, Doug Rooks, Ambrose Lepine, Vic Primeau, Walter Desjarlais, Norman Ward. Pallbearers were Mike Jacknife, Richard Cardinal, Sheldon Lepine, Kelvin Desjarlais, Curtis Moyan, and Mike Moyan
