Obituary of Sophie, Elizabeth

On Saturday, August 8, 2015 Mrs. Sophie Elizabeth Gaffney passed away in St. Albert at the age of 90 years. Sophie will be dearly missed by her children; Dennis (Beatrice) Cardinal, Irene Morin, Raymond (Ernestine) Cardinal and Roy Cardinal (Laura), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, siblings; Henry Youngchief, Adeline (Celestin) Grandbois, Harvey (Sylvia) Youngchief and Norman (Diane) Youngchief, goddaughter: Roberta Stout and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sophie was predeceased by; two husbands: Edward Cardinal and John Gaffney, parents: Josephine and Augustine Youngchief, siblings: George, Sylvester, Andrew, Rose Marie, Alphonse and many relatives. A wake was held on Thursday & Friday, August 13 & 14, 2015 at the Kehewin Community Centre with master of ceremonies; Roland Dion. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kehewin Community Centre with Father Rene Realuyo as the celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kehewin, Alberta. Pallbearers were, Wes Youngchief, J Blair Morin, Glen Youngchief, Owen Morin, Hughie Jacob, Kipp Morin, Ian Youngchief and Jade Cardinal. Honorary pallbearers; Theresa Gadwa, Angelina Badger, Lucy Badger, Liz (Elizabeth) Poitras, Moise White, Marlene Arcand and Shirley Arcand.
