On Wednesday, August 5, 2015 Mrs. Rose Anna McCarthy of Kehewin passed away at the age of 72 years. Rose Anna will be lovingly remember by her husband; Edward McCarthy of Kehewin, her children; Colleen McCarthy (Reuban), Kelsey Dion (Beverly), Preston McCarthy and Nadine Dion, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings; Maggie Cardinal, Roland (Florence) Dion, George (Arlene) Dion, Madeline (Bob) Dion-Stout, Joe (Ruth) Dion, Alice Littlechild. Rose Anna was predeceased by her daughter: Shelley Dion, a baby boy, her parents: Sarah and Billy Dion, brothers: Billy, Allen, James and Pete Dion and sisters: Theresa Dion and Florence Buffalo.
A wake was held on Sunday and Monday, August 9 and 10, 2015 at the Kehewin Community Centre. A traditional farewell was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kehewin Community Centre with Melvin Abraham as the master of ceremonies. A catholic funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Hill, Kehewin, Alberta with Father Rene Realuyo as the celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kehewin, Alberta.
