On Saturday, January 4, 2025 Jerry Ovide John of Kehewin Cree Nation passed away peacefully at the age of 78 years.

Jerry is lovingly survived by his children: Karen John, Darren John, Karla John, Kirk Dion, Patricia Dion (Lynden),  Cecile Dion, Gerry Dion, Daniel Dion, Kayleen Dion, Jordan Gadwa; Step Children: Randy (Jen) Dion, Lori (George) Dion,  Marcella (Lorne) Dion; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister: Margaret Cardinal.

Jerry was predeceased by his wife: Ernestine Dion; children: Lawrence & Koni Dion; sons: Joseph, Chris, Lewis, John, Warren;

Grandchild: Skylee Dion; son-in-law: Blair Badger; parents: Robert John, Theresa Fagan, Ella Myette, Ernest John, Mary Jebeaux.

2 day Wake, Tuesday January 7 (leaving Northern Lights Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m.) & Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Kehewin Recreational Centre, Kehewin Cree Nation.

Funeral Mass, Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., Kehewin Recreational Centre, Kehewin Cree Nation with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kehewin Cree Nation.
