January 16, 1950 ~ October 12, 2024

On Saturday, October 12, 2024 Melanie Desjardin of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 74 years.

Melanie will be forever remembered and loved by her 11 grandchildren: Pierce, Drae, Jayden, Nathan, Jarid, Amanda, Evan, Ashton, Donovan, Dallas, and Denine; 11 great grandchildren; 6 siblings: Wilma Janvier, Moses Janvier, Stewart Janvier, Ruby Mattson, Sonia Janvier, Sylvia Janvier; as well as numerous other relatives & friends.

Melanie was predeceased by her husband: Raymond Desjardin Oct 8, 2014; 2 daughters: Laurie Ann Desjardin Dec 15, 2022, Trina Desjardin Oct 7, 2016; son: Rodney Desjardin Nov 7, 2022; grandson: Aaron Gladue; her parents: Adeline (Jacko) and Moise Janvier,  9 siblings: Alma, Lydia, George, Wilson, Bernard, Clifford, Lawrence, Richard, and a baby sister.

2 day wake, Thursday October 17 & Friday, October 18, 2024, Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre (leaving Bonnyville at 1:00 p.m.). Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Cold Lake First Nations with interment to follow at Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
