It is with profound sadness that the family of Irene Bernice Pollom “Buffalo’s Grandchild - paskwâwimostos ôsisimimâw” announce her passing on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 70 years.

Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband; Garry Pollom, her daughters; Tina Shaw, Tanya Shaw (Shane), Tamara Trottier-Anderson, Angie (Vincent) Wheeler, her sons; Tyson Anderson-Trottier, and Dennis (Jen) Pollom, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and kohkom to 8 grandchildren she took as her own, her siblings; Doreen Anderson, Larry Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Stephanie John, Shaun Anderson, Candice (Dave) Hodgins, her adopted children; Warren Faye and Bruce “Sandra” Ducquette, and her god-children; Monica (Dwayne) Faithfull-Cardinal, Tyler Pollom, and Tyrane Shaw-Dion.

Irene was predeceased by her grandsons; Torrie Trottier and Trey Durocher-Anderson, her mother; Elizabeth Desjarlais, her father and step-mother; Walter and Rosie Anderson, her siblings; Vanessa Rose, Garry Anderson, and Brian Anderson, her adopted brother; Robert Collins, and her elders; Sylvester Youngchief and John White.
