Lillian had a warm, gentle, kind and caring way of including all those around her, young and old(er), in the fun and joy of a chance meeting, or a momentary personal interaction, even after years of long-distance separation from friends.
Although we didn't see Lillian often in later years, as time and distance so often temporarily separates friends, when we all did have a chance to come together again, the years and miles just seemed to slip away in the presence of Lillian's welcoming heart and smile.
... One of my favourite memories is recalling Lillian, Anne Bourque (my mother), and my 14-year-old self spending more than a few late afternoons in the Chimo Lounge drinking cokes (!) with me listening intently to Lillian and my mother sharing boisterous laughter and wonderful stories of their lives and escapades together! Lillian always found a way let me in on the adult conversation and the fun, and to feel very grown-up in the process!
Lillian, the World is a much more caring place for having had you walk through it. You will be missed. Rest peacefully.
