On Thursday December 28, 2023 Connie Jacknife of Cold Lake First Nations passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughter and sisters after a courageous battle with cancer.
Connie will be forever remembered and loved by her daughter: Seanna (Nolan) Crier; grandchildren: Addisyn, Rylan, Averie, Arrolyn “Bean”; adopted children: Joe Austin, Alex Kusturok; siblings: Joyce, Edith (Alton), Darlene (Allan), Wilma, Karen, Loretta, Cody (Lori); adopted siblings: Moise, Max, Darrel, Anne, Irene; sister friends: Margaret Pruden, Bridget Fanta, Connie Cross; brother friends: Mike Jacknife, Thom Swan, Floyd Desjarlais, Ron Desjarlais; aunts & uncle: Emma, Theresa, Charlie; special nephew: Nathan Jacknife; godchild: Shelley Dion; as well as numerous other extended family and many friends.
Connie was predeceased by her parents: Alma & Leo Jacknife; siblings: Allan, Clifford, Stoney, Maryanne, Nancy; maternal grandparents: Anne & Sylvester Tourangeau; paternal grandparents: Napoleon & Maggie Jacknife.
Wake, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 (leaving Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville at Noon), Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre, Cold Lake First Nations.
Funeral Service, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre with interment to follow at Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery, Cold Lake First Nations.
Honorary Pallbearers: All Medical Staff at Royal Alex, Cross Cancer and Bonnyville hospitals, especially Dr. Vanderventer, all of Connie’s family and special friends who knew and loved her, CLFN Chief and Council and Healthcare nurses, teachers, and staff at Legoff School, all students Connie taught, both near and far, casino and bingo friends, Dallas Rain and the Sundance family. Pallbearers: Nathan Jacknife, Steve Ellingboe, Allan Sinclair, Kevin Dion, Darrel Loyer, Thomson Swan.
