My name is Brian Wood and I reside in Warkworth, Ontario. I merely googled his name hoping to make contact with him. Unfortunately in doing so I learned of his passing. He was truly memorable as an artist and a man. We met in Grouard, Alberta and it was here we became friends. He always had a smile on his face and was an excellent storyteller. In time he took me canoeing on Fishing Lake. I remember him telling me about growing up in Fishing Lake and his love for his family. I want his family to know that I loved Morris Cardinal and I am a better man for knowing him. Shirley I know you adored Morris and I hope you are staying strong because I know that is what he would want for you.

Mo, you were the best brother ever and you taught me a lot throughout our lives. In my mind, you are one of the greatest artists I've known. Your persistence and push for Art were so admirable. You left too soon. You were such a kind soul. You enjoyed a visit from anyone and never turned them away. Your visits were so enjoyable. Thanks for coming to visit me in Northern Alberta as i was teaching,, Thank you for being a big brother, Sure miss you. love you.
