Obituary of Scholastique Scanie

On Tuesday, October 14, 2014 Ms. Scholastic Scanie of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 85 years. Scholastic will be lovingly remembered by her : children; Harvey (Myrna) Scanie, Joe Scanie, Christopher (Marie) Scanie, Kathleen Scanie, Donna Scanie, Arlene (Norm) Stewart, George Scanie, Jennifer Scanie and God Child; Dana Scanie and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews, her siblings: Alex (Jacqueline) Janvier, Elsie Winnipeg and John Janvier. Scholastique was predeceased by her husband: Dominic Scanie, children: Marvin, David, Darryl, George, Joe and John, grandson: Dominic Scanie, great grandchildren: Justin, Ashton and Sasha, parents: Marie and Harry Janvier, siblings: Caroline, Francis, Paul, Veronica, Bernadette and Delima.
A wake was held on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19, 2014 at the Cold Lake First Nations Band Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Parish with Father Rene Realuyo as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
