Please share a memory of Princess to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On October 20, 2020 after 876 days of war against DIPG, the sweetest warrior Princess,”Copper” Emma Shauneen Nicole Humphreys lay down her sword and raised her hands towards the heavens in victory. Emma was born on November 20, 2014 to Shawn Douglas Regner and Danielle Courtepatte. She found her forever home on April 29, 2016 with her Mama and Daddy Cathie and David Humphreys Big sister Haley and little sister Kylie. Emma’s life was short, however was filled with more inspiration and love than mere words can express. Emma attended Duclos Elementary School for the 2019/2020 school year, taking part in Mrs. Dreidgers Kindergarten Puppies class. During Emma’s education journey her life was touched and impacted by all of the staff and students that loved her so dearly. Emma inspired her community and the world with her acts of kindness through various fundraising efforts throughout her life, to support causes and charities near and dear to her heart. Every day she lived by her family’s motto, “Do Good, Be Good” On October 13, 2020 Emma accomplished her ultimate goal, to be a “Copper” when she grew up, by becoming an honorary member of the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment presented to her by her favorite “Copper friend” Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke and several members of the Bonnyville RCMP detachment. Emma was diagnosed with DIPG on May 28, 2018 and was given the median survival time of 6-9 months. She never was one to follow the “rules”. She was always wild and lived life on her own terms. Emma defied those odds and continued to defy them for 780 days when her tumor started to grow again and our girl began the fiercest battle of her life. Emma fought every day, with courage and grace and lived everyday with love. Emma is survived by her Mama and Daddy Cathie and David Humphreys, Biological mom Mama D, Sisters Haley (Josh) Humphreys, Alexis Courtepatte, Kylie Humphreys, Zac Humphreys, Lily Courtepatte, Great Grandmas Margaret Humphreys and Eva Regner, Grandparents Jim and Shauneen Humphreys, Chuck Hogan, Daryl Hamilton and Dixie Regner and special Granny Cathy Lynds.
