BLANKESTYN, Cornelia
On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Mrs. Cornelia “Corry” Blankestyn of Cold Lake passed away at the age of 81 years. Cornelia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Wendy (Gerard Gamache) Blankestyn of Iron River, son Andrew Blankestyn of Cherry Grove, grandchildren; Shon (Kami Cline) Gamache of Bonnyville, Daniel (Liza) Gamache of Iron River and Sage (Brody Jezowski) Gamache of LaCorey, 4 great grandchildren; Taylor, Kyra, Jax and Aria, her siblings; Rie (Johan) Sterk of Gardenew, Holland, Ryk (Nelly) van Voorthuizen Renswoude, Holland, Yoka Walsh of Cratloekeel, Ireland, Rita Mulder of Woudeberg, Holland and Jenny (Emile) Schmid of Port olborne, Ontario. Cornelia was predeceased by her husband: Gerrit “Jerry” Blankestyn (2004), parents: Jan and Hendrika van Voorthuizen and 2 brothers: Jan and Henny van Voorthuizen.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cherry Grove Community Cemetery with Pastor Phil Crump officiating.
Memorial tributes in memory of Cornelia may be made to the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre Long Term Care Unit.314 25 Street, Cold Lake, AB T9M 1G6 (Court Yard Garden)
