Obituary of Lillian Ida Sweeney

August 29, 1939 – March 16, 2024

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Lillian Sweeney of La Corey, Alberta announces her passing at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the age of 84 years.

Lillian is lovingly survived by her two sons: Roy (Linda) Sweeney of Vancouver, BC., Rick (Lesley) Sweeney of La Corey, AB, daughter: Kimberly (Ayman) Hassan of Spruce Grove, AB.; six grandchildren: Robert (Jackie), Reuben (B.J.), Ryan, Laura (J-F), Miriam, Zach; four great grandchildren: Benson, Kennedy, Lilly, Tripp; brother-in-law: Murray Sweeney of Yarmouth, NS; sister-in-law: Suanne DeCourcey of Winnipeg, MB; niece: Doreen (Don) McCallum and her family as well as numerous other relatives.

Lillian was a member of the Eastern Star and the La Corey Hall where she made many friends.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband: Richard “Dick” Sweeney (May 15, 2014); sisters: Mildred Bain, Florence Pittman, Hazel Howie. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lillian’s life will be held at a later date.

Lillian had a love for animals therefore in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of Lillian may be sent to the Bonnyville and District S.P.C.A.
