Obituary of Douglas Frederick Wychopen

WYCHOPEN, Douglas

November 27, 1978 – January 17, 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Douglas Frederick Wychopen announces his passing in Cold Lake at the age of 45 years. Doug fought a heroic 3 ½ year battle with cancer.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his son; Jayce Wychopen, his mother; Doris Wychopen, step-mother; Elaine Wychopen, sister; Jennifer Wychopen, brother; Keith (Meghan) Baran, nieces and nephews; Cael Charlton, Jacob Anderson, Noah Baran, Tobias Baran, and Arwen Baran, and uncles and aunts; Ken Wychopen, Diane (Leo) Cote, Ray (Connie) Lafortune,, and Marcel (Debbie) Lafortune, and his cousins and friends. 

Douglas was predeceased by his father; Dwayne Wychopen, grandparents; Fred and Anna Wychopen, and Origene and Gilberte Lafortune, and his uncle; Gorden Wychopen.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Cold Lake. Eulogy will begin at 10:50 a.m.

Memorial tributes in memory of Douglas may be made to a trust fund for his son Jayce (e-transfers to intrustforjayce@gmail.com), or the Canadian Cancer Society. 500 55st Clair Ave West, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7
