Obituary of Travis Joseph Desjarlais

Obituary For TRAVIS JOSEPH DESJARLAIS June 1, 1990 – November 25, 2009 On Wednesday, November 25, 2009 Travis Joseph Desjarlais of Elizabeth Métis Settlement suddenly passed away at the age of 19 years. Travis will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his parents Catherine (Jason) Umpherville of Elizabeth and Joseph Cardinal of Elizabeth, his sister Trudy Desjarlais of Elizabeth, best friends Andrew and Aaron Fillatre of Cold Lake, step brothers Jody (Shanon) Cardinal of Elizabeth and Ryan Cardinal of Calgary, step sisters Evelyn (Shawn) Vancoghnett of Fort McMurray and Eleanor Cardinal of Fort McMurray and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Travis was predeceased by his “big brother” Dustin Desjarlais, maternal grandparents Edward and Ida Desjarlais, paternal grandparents Edward and Julia Cardinal, god father Clayton Cross, cousin Keith Cardinal, aunts Arlene Badger, Trudy Desjarlais and Brecky Desjarlais and an uncle Robert Desjarlais. A prayer vigil was held on Sunday and Monday, November 29 and 30, 2009 at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, Elizabeth Settlement with Father Rene Realuyo as the celebrant. Interment followed at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Cemetery with honourary pallbearers; Quentin Desjarlais, Kyle Desjarlais, Gavin Desjarlais, Isaac Bartman, Nelson Prins and Terrence Nest, and active pallbearers; Shawn Bartman, Myles Cardinal, Roger Chartrand, Sheldon Lepine, Ron Tremblay, Tylor Desjarlais, Johnny Badger and Randy Badger.
